Doctrinal Statement

What is the gospel?

In the beginning God created all things very good (Genesis 1:31). Man choose to rebel against God and brought sin into the world and now all men are born into sin and by their nature only sin. Mankind is fallen and depraved in their thoughts, words, and deeds and will only choose, by their own choice, to sin and rebel against the true and living God. Man will never seek God or choose to obey God (Romans 3:10-11). Although mankind does good deeds by the common grace of God, every intention of their heart is evil continuously (Genesis 6:5).

This truth can be tested right now with you. Listen to your conscience. How many lies have you told in your life? How many things have you taken that did not belong to you? How many times have you used the Lord's name in vain or without reverence or without thinking or as a cuss word? Jesus said that if you look at a woman to lust, you already have committed adultery in your heart. So lust is adultery in the eyes of God. If you have hated someone you broke the 6th commandment which says do not murder. Hatred is considered as murder to God (1 John 3:15).

We all fall when we look into the light of God's law. So because God is holy and just, He must punish law breakers. If God let guilty criminals go then He would not be just or loving, so God punishes sin. The penalty of sin is death (Romans 6:23) in your body and eternal death, Hell, for your soul. It looks as if all men are condemned because all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and there is no way out.

But the good news of the gospel is that God never left man to perish but sent him a way out of his sin and misery and penalty that he deserves. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a wooden cross in the place of man. God crushed His own Son in our place (Isaiah 53:10). Jesus took our sin upon Himself and God poured His wrath out on Him as a penalty for our sin and therefore satisfied the justice of God. Jesus rose from the dead three days later because death couldn't hold him. He now sits at the right hand of God and will come back to judge the world.

Jesus is the Savior of mankind. The bible says to escape Hell and receive the gift of everlasting life, man must see his sin and repent of it and put his faith alone in Jesus Christ to save him. By asking God to forgive you, repenting of your sins and trusting Jesus Christ, God will save you from the penalty of sin and give you what you don't deserve, Heaven. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, God will forgive your sin, account you as righteous and bring you to heaven when you die.

Repent and trust in Jesus to save you today and He will radically change your life.
